Veterans Agent

The mission of this department is to assist veterans in need; we process applications for emergency assistance benefits that are paid to veterans and / or their dependants for periods of time in which they may not be able to support themselves.  

The money provided to the veteran is paid through the city or town and at present is returned to the city or town by the state of Massachusetts at the current rate of 75%.

Veterans agents also administer benefits for burial expenses of veterans and their dependants who die without sufficient means to pay for funeral expenses.
