Town of Hampden
Special Budget Meeting of
Parks & Recreation Commission
7:00PM at the Hampden Town Hall
January 4, 2005
Approved: January 11, 2005
Attendance: Chris McDonald, Michael D’Agostino, Glennice Flynn and Tina Albano. Also present were Jay Fenlason and Sue Gorman.
Budget: Chris needed to submit the budget to the Selectmen and needed confirmation from the board as to the figures to be submitted.
Estimated costs for opening the pool were discussed and the funds requested would be used contingent upon the actual opening. These figures were based upon a tentative open date 0f June 20, 2005 and close date of August 14, 2005. The hours would be from 11:00A.M. -4:00P.M, Monday through Friday
This would require the hiring of lifeguards (approx. 4) at $8.25/hour with two always working a shift at the same time.
Supplies needed would be estimations based off of pool expenses from two summers ago when the pool was last operating.
Tina reported that the Rauscher Family has offered to pay for the cost of the engineer to look at the pool from their memorial fund. This would be a help in planning for pool expenditures.
Selling passes and/or charging a minimal fee and increasing the fee for the summer program would help defray pool costs.
Tina made a motion to accept the budget as outlined. (See attached) Glennice seconded. All in favor and so voted.
Michael made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 8:09 P.M. Glennice seconded. All in favor and so voted.
