Pool:
Jim spoke with Gary Swanson and he has all of the pool paperwork. Gary was stopping by to look at the pool and then review everything.
Jay to contact Joe Dilk to reroute plumbing from one well to another and replace wellhead. May need to contact Tom McLaughlin (plumber) for information.
Sports:
Sign-ups going well for baseball, soccer and track. Softball numbers are down. Baseball 7/8 grade numbers are short and was discussed to call Brian in Wilbraham to see if we could combine teams. Calls were also being made to find out if some kids would still be returning but hadn’t signed up.
Also discussed, is it allowable to have Tom Brennan coach when he now lives in Wilbraham? This has been left for further discussion.
Camp:
Age requirements: Counselors 16 years before first day of camp

Applications are being returned from last year’s employees. Waiting to see how many more will need to be hired. Cost of the camp will be $60.00 and $55.00 for additional family members. It was agreed that the following fees would apply for this summer: Head Lifeguard $9.00, other guards $8.25, Counselors $7.25 and CIT’s $55.00.
A flyer will be placed in the Reminder for the camp guide to target Hampden residents.
Events:
Still collecting for all of the upcoming events. Calls keep coming into the office. We are focusing on Foxwoods for March 24,2002
Playground:
Scheduled to be installed April 19 & 20,2002. Hot dogs, popcorn and soda to be supplied by the Park and Rec Dept, Glennice to take care of along with contacting Dunkin Donuts.
Misc.
--CPA meeting- Jim mentioned that 40 acres of land is for sale behind Memorial Park. This would be great for hiking paths, soccer fields etc. Also for sale is 1.7 acres ( with a barn and house ) in front of the park that would make a great Youth Center. The Hampden Land Project- Sherry Himmelstein to speak on field availability.
--Cement pad still needed at GM. It was suggested that Mike D’Amours could possibly install if coordinated around playground installation. Park and Rec would pay for the cost of the cement. Jay to contact Mike.
--Fields need to be rototilled soon. Maintenance crew (2-3 dependable kids) is needed for fields to lime and prep. Check with Dana on age of tractor driver.
--Jay still waiting on flooring estimates for TWB gym. A golf tournament is being planned as a fundraiser to cover costs for this.
--RAH is purchasing a pop-up tent to be used at the soccer games. Park and Rec is also planning to purchase a tent.
