Selectmen’s Meeting
In attendance: Jim Smith, Duane Mosier, Mark Barba
The meeting was called to order by Jim Smith at 8:05 a.m.
New lottery numbers from the state legislature were received Friday with a change in how the funds would be distributed to the Town. Lengthy discussion on how to proceed with Annual Town Meeting with the updated information, which requires an additional $100K to meet the needs of the town. Kathy Pessolano and Cliff Bombard came in and provided their perspectives on the new developments. Kathy polled the members of the Advisory Committee via telephone for their input. A motion was made by Duane Mosier to increase the override to 453K, but the decision to vote the final number was postponed until Monday’s meeting.
Board of Health: perc test required a local upgrade approval to allow for a hardship installation that allowed for a four (4) foot separation to replace the required five (5) foot because of the high (fast) rate of perc. Motion was made by Jim Smith and seconded by Mark Barba to allow for the installation of the replacement septic system at 112 Raymond Drive (Pecia) with local upgrade approval as recommended by the Health Agent to the reduced distance of four (4) feet as requested. All voted in favor.
Motion was made and seconded to enter into executive session for the purpose of discussing police officers’ proposal and to return to regular session. Votes were: Mark Barba--yes, Duane Mosier--yes, Jim Smith--yes.
