The continuation of the meeting that was held on April 8, 2003 was called to order at 7:00pm Board of Selectmen James D. Smith, Duane Mosier, and Mark Barba were in attendance. 1. STM Duane Mosier moved to re-approve the warrant with the insertion of an article as follows: Mark Barba seconded. All in favor and so voted. To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Board of Selectmen to acquire the fee simple interest in the following real estate on Main Street owned by Linda J. Lehman and Rowland R. Lehman by purchase, or take any other action relative thereto. Final wording of this article and subject to legal and bond counsel review and incorporation of recommended changes. 2. OverrideDuane Mosier moved to call for a Proposition 2 ½ override on May 17th with the following questions: a. Shall the Town
of Hampden be allowed to assess an additional $362,569 in real estate and
personal property taxes for the purpose of operating the Municipal Government
and Public Schools for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2003? b. Shall the Town
of Hampden be allowed to exempt from the provisions of proposition two and
one-half, so-called, the amounts required to pay for the bond to be issued in
order to purchase a dump truck for the highway department? c. Shall the Town of Hampden be allowed to exempt from the
provisions of proposition two and one-half, so-called, the amounts required
to pay for the bond to be issued in order to purchase real estate at 613 Main
Street, Hampden, MA? |

Duane Mosier moved, seconded by Mark Barba to adjourn the meeting. The motion was adopted unanimously (3-0). The meeting adjourned at 7:30 P.M.
