MINUTES

June 17, 2002

Roll Call:

The meeting was called to order at 8:49pm.  Board of Selectmen

James D. Smith, and Mark Barba were in attendance. Duane Mosier was out of town.

 

Old Business:

1.               None.

 

New Business:

 

2.               DEP Letter Re: Transfer Station

Mark and Jim discussed the letter from the DEP dated ___.  The letter asked for the Town to set a date for inspection pits at the Transfer Station.  As no action was needed until June 28th it was agreed to postpone further discussions to the Selectmen’s meeting on June 24th.  This would give Duane Mosier, Chairman of the Board of Health, who was out of town time to read the letter and then participate in the discussions.

 

 

3.               Special Town Meeting Hearing

At 6:58pm Mark Barba motioned to recesses the meeting to attend the Advisory Hearing for the Special Town Meeting.  James Smith seconded.

 

Vote:   James Smith – Yes

            Mark Barba – Yes

            Duane Mosier was not present

4.               Resumption of Meeting

The meeting resumed at 7:55pm following the Advisory Hearing

5.               Approval of Minutes from June 10, 2002

The following corrections were made to the minutes form June 10. 2002.

James Smith motioned to approve the minutes as corrected.  Mark Barba seconded. 

            Vote:   James Smith – Yes

                        Mark Barba – Yes

                        Duane Mosier was not present

 

6.               Letter Re: Possible Septic Problem – 51 River Park Rd.

The Board reviewed a draft letter from Glenn Riddle, Board of Health Agent that was requesting permission to either enter the above property to inspect a reported failed system problem, or to have the homeowner contact a licensed septic installer to perform an inspection.  A minor change was made to the letter and it was agreed that the Board of Health Agent should sign it.

 

7.               “To Do List”

Mark Barba discussed his concern about the increasing items on the “To Do List”.  At an upcoming meeting he wants to discuss ways to complete items and pare down the list.

8.               Acting Chairman

James Smith moved to appoint Mark Barba Acting Chairman of the Board of Selectmen from June 18th  – June 24th, while James is out of town.  Mark Barba seconded.

            Vote:   James Smith – Yes

                        Mark Barba – Yes

Duane Mosier was not present

 

The meeting was adjourned at 8:35pm.
